Incorrect artist mapping is a common issue that happens across the digital services and for all distributors. If you share an artist name with other artists, it's possible your release could be incorrectly mapped to another artist's page or even a brand new artist page. If you notice your release is on the wrong page on Apple Music/iTunes we can help get your release moved to the correct page for you.
Note: In the release builder, when you create a product and enter in an artist name a drop down will appear with Spotify and apple profiles for you to choose from. Once you have selected the correct profile the URI and appleID will automatically be added and the delivery will end up on those profiles. If this is a brand new artist with no existing profiles you should choose new artist in order for us to deliver the tag to the digital platform.
If your products are appearing on the wrong artist page on Apple Music, please reach out to us via Email and send the following information:
- UPC of the release(s)
- Link to the wrong artist page
- Link to the correct artist page. If this is your first release, please just let us know you'll need a new page.
- Affected Artist Name (with proper casing and spelling)
Important: The name on the correct artist page must match the artist name we delivered in the metadata of your release or we will not be able to help move the release.
Once we have this information, we'll get in touch with Apple to amend your release's mapping. You should see your release moved to the correct page within 5 working days.
Note: Artist mapping issues do not affect your streaming data or royalties payments.
