1. How Royalty Splits work

Each split is a revenue-sharing agreement tied to a track, a release, or several at once. Inside a split you add collaborators and assign each of them a percentage. The percentages must always add up to 100%.
A split moves through four stages:
  1. Create the split — choose the split type, add collaborators, and enter percentages.
  2. Send for signature — each collaborator receives an invitation and confirms their share.
  3. Activate — once everyone has signed, the split becomes Active.
  4. Automatic payout — at each period, incoming revenue is split by the agreed percentages and credited to each person's wallet.
The one thing to remember: A split does not pay out until every party has signed. If anyone is still awaiting signature, that split's revenue is held until it's complete.

2. The Overview screen

Go to Royalty Splits › Overview for a quick read on where things stand. The four cards at the top show:
  • Active Splits — how many splits are live out of your total.
  • Collaborators — the total number of people across your splits.
  • Pending Signatures — signatures still missing. An Action required label means something needs your attention.
  • Paid this Period — the amount distributed in the current period.
Below the cards, the My Splits table lists recent splits with their type, collaborators, and status. Click the eye icon in the Actions column to open a split.

3. Setting up a split while creating a release

The most common way to create a split is right inside the release flow. On the release editor, open the 3. Splits tab.

Choose how it applies (Split mode)
Customize per trackEach track can have its own percentages. A track set to Inherit uses the default split; a track you edit overrides it.

Choose the split type

Master + PublishingSplits both recording (master) revenue and songwriting (publishing) revenue. The most complete option.
Master onlySplits recording revenue only. Use it when publishing is handled separately.
Publishing (Coming soon)Splits publishing revenue only (composition, lyrics, melody) among writers and publishers.
Add collaborators and set percentages
  1. Click + Add collaborator and enter the person's name or email.
  2. Choose their role (for example Primary artistSongwriterMix engineer).
  3. Drag the slider or type the percentage directly. The bar at the top shows whether the total has reached 100%.
  4. To reuse a saved configuration, click Apply template… To apply the same setup to every track, click Copy to all tracks.
Tip: If you often work with the same team, save the configuration as a template (Template name… › Save template) so next time it's a one-click apply.
Note: You can't move to the next step until the total equals exactly 100%. Check the split bar at the top of the block to be sure.

4. Managing your splits (My Splits)

The Royalty Splits › My Splits page gathers every split you've created, signed, or are still drafting. Use the search box or the All splitsActivePending, and Drafts filters to narrow things down.
Each row shows the split type, collaborators, Your share, and the status:
  • Active — live, fully signed.
  • Pending — awaiting signatures.
  • Draft — not sent yet.
Click Open in the Actions column to view details, edit (for drafts), or track signing progress.

5. Collaborators & KYC verification

The Royalty Splits › Collaborators page brings together everyone you've shared revenue with. Each card shows their role, the number of shared splits (Shared splits), and their average share (Avg share).
Each person's identity-verification status sits next to their name:
  • KYC verified — verified and ready to receive funds.
  • KYC pending — verification not yet complete.
Why KYC matters: A collaborator with KYC pending can sign a split, but their share is held until identity verification is complete. Remind collaborators to finish KYC early so the money doesn't get stuck.
You can filter the list by KYC status or by role, and add new people with the Add via new split button.

6. Invitations: receive, sign, negotiate

When someone adds you to a split — or when you invite others — the invitation appears under Royalty Splits › Invitations, organized into three tabs: ReceivedSent, and Archived.
For an invitation you receive, you have four choices:
  • View split — review the full terms before you decide.
  • Accept & Sign — agree to the proposed share and sign now. The button states your share, for example Accept & Sign · 50.0%.
  • Counter / Counter offer — propose a different percentage if you'd like to negotiate.
  • Decline — turn down the split.
Keep in mind: An Awaiting your signature status means the split is waiting on you. As long as one signature is missing, the whole split pays out to no one.
To invite a collaborator to a split yourself, click Send Invitation in the top right.

7. Split templates

If you repeat the same split across releases, save it as a template under Royalty Splits › Templates. Each template remembers the split type and the list of collaborators with their percentages.
  1. Click New template or Create new template to start a new one.
  2. Give it a name, choose the split type, and configure the parties as you would for a normal split.
  3. When creating a release, click Apply to release (or Apply template… on the Splits tab) to apply it in a single step.

8. Payout History

The Royalty Splits › Payout History page tracks every distribution across your splits. The three summary cards at the top show:
  • Total received — total split revenue credited to your account.
  • Distributed — total paid out to your collaborators.
  • Net — what's left for you (received minus distributed).
Each row is tied to a Split and a Batch (a payout run), with a status:
  • Received — an amount credited to you.
  • Distributed — an amount you paid out to others.
  • Held — temporarily on hold (usually because KYC isn't complete).
Your own rows are marked you and highlighted so they're easy to spot. Use the time filters (All timeThis yearLast 3 months) and the transaction-type filters to search quickly.
