In May 2024, YouTube is introducing one of the biggest updates and most long-awaited features to Analytics for Artists since its creation: Artist Roster.

With Artist Roster, managers and label teams can now keep up with all their artists on YouTube in one place, in the Studio mobile app.

This update allows multi-artist managers to:

  • See how your artists are trending week-over-week
  • See which songs are top performers on Shorts and seize viral moments
  • Switch easily between multiple artist’s Analytics

Gain a better understanding of what is contributing to positive performance, as well as to slowdowns, to help you strategically decide your next best move.

Insight Tabs

If an artist’s weekly views are trending upwards or downwards, YouTube will indicate this in the Insights tab. It will display up to 5 artists at once, along with the top song, video, or Short that most contributed to this change. To view insights for additional artists, tap ‘See all’. You can also see the top songs in Shorts across your roster.

Artists Tabs

In the Artist tab, you will find the number of views and unique viewers in the last 7 days, as well as directional arrows indicating whether an artist is trending upwards or downwards. Note that your roster will be sorted in alphabetical order by default.

Once you navigate to a specific artist, you can continue to explore their full analytics. You can easily navigate back to the Artist Roster through the account picker.

How to Activate Artist Roster

This feature is built off Channel Permissions, so once you’ve migrated over to this model, by following the instructions below, YouTube can identify which artists you have delegated access to, and automatically include them in your Artist Roster, without having to switch accounts.

Note: you must also be using the latest version of the Studio mobile app.

Top Tip

Channel Permissions delegations on YouTube Main allow managers to manage channels directly

  • Manager channel access
  • Upload Shorts
  • Manage Playlists
  • Post comments
  • Avoid watch/search history pollution

How to edit Channel Permissions

  1. Check the email associated to your Brand account is the right one
  2. Check that the email of the users you want to associate to are accessible
  3. As primary owner, sign into YouTube Studio
  4. On the left-hand side, click on ‘Settings’
  5. Click ‘Permissions’ then click ‘Move Permission’
  6. Choose a role for each existing user associated with your Brand account
  7. Click ‘Invite’. Each invited user will receive an email to accept the invitation and will now show in Studio Permissions

If your Channel Permissions settings are correctly deployed, and if you have delegation rights for at least two Official Artist Channels, you can now activate the Roster view:

  • Tap your profile image in the upper right-hand corner of the Studio mobile app
  • Then tap “Artist Roster”
  • Make sure to check your inbox for an Artist Roster welcome email with more details

Congratulations, you now have access to the Artist Roster.
