Important: If you upload only the 3×4 version or only the 1×1 version, Apple may reject the complete Motion Art package.

How to Upload Apple Motion Art

While creating or editing your release in Allot Lines:
  1. Go to the artwork section of the Release Builder.
  2. Locate Apple Motion Art (optional).
  3. Upload your Album Page Motion — 3×4 file.
  4. Upload your Album Page Motion — 1×1 file.
  5. Make sure both videos meet Apple's required dimensions and duration.
  6. Continue completing your release information and submit the release for review.
You can either click Browse to select the MP4/MOV file from your device or drag and drop the file into the relevant upload area.

Before Uploading

Please verify the following:
  • The 3×4 file is exactly 2048 × 2732 pixels.
  • The 1×1 file is exactly 3840 × 3840 pixels.
  • Both videos are between 8 and 35 seconds long.
  • The files are provided in MP4 or MOV format.
  • Both required versions are uploaded.
  • The Motion Art accurately represents the release and does not contain unauthorized copyrighted material.

Is Apple Motion Art Required?

No. Apple Motion Art is an optional feature.
You can distribute your release normally without providing Motion Art. Your standard static cover artwork will continue to be used where Motion Art is unavailable or not supplied.
However, if you decide to provide Motion Art, you must upload both required versions.

Common Reasons Motion Art May Be Rejected

Motion Art may fail validation or be rejected if:
  • Only one version is provided.
  • The resolution is incorrect.
  • The video is shorter than 8 seconds.
  • The video exceeds 35 seconds.
  • An unsupported file format is uploaded.
  • The file is corrupted or cannot be processed.
  • The content does not comply with applicable Apple Music or Allot Lines content requirements.

Can I Add Motion Art After My Release Is Live?

Depending on the status of your release, you may need to submit an update through Allot Lines.
If an existing release does not allow you to directly modify its Motion Art, please contact Allot Lines Support so our team can advise whether an update can be submitted.

Does Motion Art Appear on Every Store?

No. This upload option is specifically intended for Apple Music.
Other digital service providers may have their own animated artwork formats, requirements, or visual-content features.
