Artist Roles

You can choose artist roles for all your tracks we send to partners.

We deliver this information on all new releases. We cannot retroactively add these roles to titles that have already been distributed.

Here is a list of artist roles and definitions:

• The primary artist is the main performer on the track or album.
• Featured Artist: The artist who is a guest feature on the track/album.

• A Primary Artist is the principal artist(s) or band(s) who participate in every track of the release. Generally, if an artist is credited on the cover art and had a hand in composing the work, they should be included on the album and track level as Primary Artists. Spotify will display a primary artist next to your artist name, below the track. Every release through Allot Lines will always credit the artist name associated with your account as the primary artist.

• A Featured Artist are the artists who accompanys the primary artist in the release. In the case of an multi-release album, the use of this role generally implies that the featuring artist did not have a hand in composing a majority of the album and is present on a minority of the tracks within the album. Spotify will display a featured artist as "ft. (ARTIST NAME)" in the title.
